Worldwide human populations have also dipped as low as 10000 (possibly 1000) during that time frame. It's unlikely to get that bad again, but it's not like the climate changed and all us awesome hominids were like, "ooh, new weather, isn't that awesome!"
Not to mention the trillions of dollars of infrastructure that we've created in the last couple hundred years.
