FWIW, I look at global warming the same way I looked at WMDs in Iraq.

Yes there's evidence and reason for concern, and we should definitely be taking steps to address it, but there seems to be a group screaming panic and we must do something drastic immediately or else the world is going to end. They also seem to be trying to suppress debate and discount any opposing evidence out of hand. Just like I thought with Iraq I think there should be a more measured approach here.

the future effects of global warming can't be known for sure... knowing there are WMDs in Iraq before claming it should have been known for sure -- nm

I'm always willing to listen to arguments, but they always seem to come down to "Why do we still have winter?" and "Al Gore flies private planes!" -- nm

My approach is I can make little changes in our lifestyle to help minimize the "bad stuff" we emit, no big deal. But you can't turn the Titanic 90.

Uhm, too much of the opposition is trying to discuss the issue without using scientific research.
