LIR, for people looking for appetiser recipes. I recommend this one from a former cow orker. I'm currently working on a lighter version.

IRENES ARTICHOKE DIP
 cup sour cream
 cup mayonnaise
8 oz cream cheese softened
8oz frozen or canned artichoke hearts (in water) drained.
 tsp dill
tsp garlic salt (I used garlic powder and a little more)
6 oz grated parmesan cheese (fresh in the bag is actually 5oz, but it worked)
Mix everything together, except the artichoke hearts. I started it with a potato masher and then used a hand mixer it depends how smooth you want it.
Fold in well-drained and chopped artichoke hearts.
Heat in casserole dish at 270 deg for 20-30 minutes. Top should be bubbly and start to brown. (I guess it has to do with the depth of the casserole, but I had mine in for about 40 minutes and it never did start to bubble.)
Serve with crackers or chips or baguette slices.
