To add, there sometimes comes a point when it makes perfect sense to hand off a Crown to the private sector because things have changed.

I'm not sure I agree with the CANDU privatization talk, but I'm also not locked into thinking that everything currently public MUST remain public. Let's be willing to have the debate and see.
(I'm especially leery of government run monopolies naturally. If they are as good as they claim they are, why not open it up to competition and see how they do?)
