I can think of at least one good reason? Practical and accountable gov't?

If we're allowing the gov't into any area - whether needed or not - so long as they appear to be managing well and can turn a profit, that accountability on top becomes even more elusive due to the increasing scope of gov't.

It's bad enough as it is, do we want to make it even worse?
