It's big, bulky, absurdly shaped. There's the imminent release of a Kindle 2.

And you don't want to get left holding the bag with a Sony Discman when Apple's about to release the iPod. With monochrome screen and unwieldy shape, this type of device is surely an intermediary on the way to something more integrated (think iPod/gaming device/book reader/internet browser).
