first: like lots of other stuff in the film, I think it's weirdness for weirdness' sake.

Actually we met Kauffmann and inquired him about the matter. He said it's a dream he had.
I personally thought it was a deeply flawed film with some brilliant ideas. It just seemed like Kauffmann got creative ADD, the film jumps wildly from weird concept to weird concept (some of them brilliant) without really ellaborating them, and then picking them up again one hour later.
And I personally don't think that Kauffman, an award writing writer admired throughout the world, making a film about a failed miserable playwright is too honest.
And I'm no hater, I love all of his other stuff. Just not this. It looked to me that he really needs somebody above him (the director) reigning in all his immense creativity
