I guess I can sort of understand why Bullock might get an Oscar nom. for this. She played it very well given the limitations of the role. So much so that you're actually looking forward to the next scene with her in it, although that may be that the intervening scenes were so ordinary that you actually looked forward to seeing a more polished performance from her. The whole movie kind of gravitated to her performance.
