When I went vegan for almost a year I couldn't stand the thought of Fakon or tofurky, fake meat was like giving a recovering alki near beer

that said, veggie burgers, at least the good ones, don't fit in the fake meat category, they are a slice of a veggie loaf and would likely be a menu item even if there weren't a meat comparison.

same with pate' made of vegan ingredients which I still like better than the liver of sick birds
