Just told/asked the boy what I might be planning to do. His response: (wtf!)

"Next time just don't tell me about that stuff. You can do whatever you want, but if you know I don't like it, then don't tell me and it's okay. Like, you can go sleep with a papacito in Mexico, just don't tell me about it."
wtf.
I don't know that I'm okay with this, since I don't want him to think doing something is okay just because he doesn't tell me about it.

Uh, does this mean he assumes you feel the same way, should the tables be turned? There are trust issues here, going both ways. -- nm

He may not want to hear about individual instances, but his knowing that you'll continue doing this thing you want to do is important. It's better

my take: he'd rather have you not tell him about something you know he doesn't care for rather than tell him you won't do it and then do it anyway

if it's a dealbreaker for him, either you honor it or find someone for whom it isn't a dealbreaker -- nm
