Mouse Hunt question

How is it possible for me to have to replace a stale Marble cheese at 4:03 when the trap check at 4:00 caught a mouse (Steel mouse) and I have a "Fresh" cheese effect on my base (stone base)? If I have a cheese effect: Fresh, shouldn't my cheese last longer than 3 minutes?

What's going on? TIA.

going stale has nothing to do with time elapsed. every time you fail to attract, there is a chance the bait will go stale. - TFox Jan 1, 16:09 2
