it's grammatically incorrect (i went to the url from the email - it's legit):

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hazard,

I'm very sad to say that Shannon is very far behind in AR and she chose or "forgot" to bring a book home over the holiday to catch up. Now, she should have 76% of her goal, but she has only 34%. Thanks for any help and encouragement you could give to get her caught up.
