its called a gym and an elipical or stairmaster, or even just 20 minutes swimming laps

you can watch your heart rate so you stay within your target range, so you gradually build up stamina
do you ever get up at night to pee and get dizzy? that's a danger zone of out of shape

I do walk, and I handle the stairs fine without a 50 pound suitcase.
