If you're a Green Lantern Fan start with
Yes Hal wiped out the corp and killed a lot of people and some of the trades of that storyline are around but a lot of it is out of print just start with the one listed below....
Green lantern Rebirth (tells how Hal came back)
And then get the Sinestro Corp War Trades
Blackest Night has not been collected yet, but reading the Green Lantern stuff will keep you occupied till it is collceted...
Flash Rebirth has not been collected yet
Infinite Crisis is the sequel to Crisis.

Start with Avengers Dissembled by Brian Bendis
Then if you want read New Avengers Vol. 1,2,3 and then move to Civil War and House of M....

Walking Dead is terrific series about life in America after the Zombie apocalypse....
Astonishing X-men by Joss Whedon is a good self contained X-men series
Runaways Series 1 and 2 by Brian Vaughn
Y The Last Man by Brian Vaughn as well
DMZ by Brian Wood is excellent
Invincible by Robert Kirkman
Marvels and Kingdom Come by Alex Ross are good done in one books.
Anything by Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka, Brian Bendis, Geoff Johns, Gail Simone are great starting points for readers to come into the new stuff
