Hotkiss -- PNC is the biggest regional bank in (and HQ'ed in) Pittsburgh.

They are a large employer here. Pretty stable company -- they had minimal exposure to the bad mortgages and they were one of the banks tapped to take over one of the failing ones, in this case National City. They are currently still going through that integration effort. About 4 years ago they bought a bank with a footprint in DC, so that's probably what this branch was.

My mom works at one of the Pittsburgh branches. The pay is not that great, so the branches tend to be staffed by younger employees. She works at one of the largest branches and about every 6 months or so they get a new branch manager because the previous one has been promoted to something else. So if you're looking for a place that has upward mobility, PNC may be worth looking into.
