I also wonder how much depends on their previous exposure to this new style of 3D.

For me, the 3D was fine, but it honestly wasn't any better than the other 3-4 3D movies I've seen every year for the past 3-4 years. I fully expect animated movies to be 3D these days because every single one is and for all intents and purposes this is also an animated movie.
