They seem to completely understand the predicament - one kept telling me "we understand that the need for permanency takes precedence over anything else."

They're going to call the boss at the company and leave it up to him. I don't expect him to want me to show up tomorrow for a partial day, then possibly work there for a few weeks...but if he does, okay.

I mentioned not wanting to burn bridges all around, and they really seemed to understand. They said as far as they were concerned, I wasn't burning any bridges with them.
