it's no-win for him at NBC if he keeps the show at 12p behind a half hour of Leno.

he'll never keep the lead-in because his audience is a totally different demo than Leno's and the start time is now a half-hour later, so he will look like a failure by comparison
plus it just looks like he's second fiddle now after being given the reins to the network's late night flagship
