Brown has, to me, a particularly odious line in one of his commercials.

"I don't think the US Constitution exists to provide rights to terrorists. I'll make sure we're safe."

I'm paraphrasing but not by much. I loathe that sort of talk. Meanwhile...Coakley is talking about Jobs, Big Bad Banks and Accountability.

I think Brown will have played this badly. It's likely he doesn't know he's running in MA.
