I think you got it backwards....if you just end a relationship and suddenly you have a missing component in your life

and all you seek is to fill that component; I think that's textbook rebound. It doesn't matter the who, just the what (the sex, the romance, the comfort whatever).

When you know you don't need to fill what you're missing, you're ready to have a relationship on the right terms; person A & person B connecting.

Otherwise, every action is viewed through the prism of replacing what's missing and not appreciating what's offered/added.
