When we did our earthquake exercise in TN last year, there was a real quake in IL the day before, which wreaked all kinds of havoc.

First, we though the IL USAR team wouldn't be able to make it, but they did.
Second, the engineers had to check our fake rubble piles to make sure they hadn't been damaged by the real quake.
Third, the participants kept confusing fake news reports with the real one. I even confused the fake ones and real ones at one point.
