I don't think the move from TDS is the one he wishes he hadn't made.

He left TDS to host Late Late Show. That's not a bad move.
Leaving the Late Late Show to work in movies when nobody will hire you for anything other than bit parts, however, is a bad move.
I'm happy he made that mistake, as Ferguson is light years better than Kilborn ever was.
