actually most couples now have the baby first before getting married, for various reasons

A. women are realizing that they have a much stronger legal position as a single mom than a married spouse getting child support and other legal issues. If you are single the state gets the deal in writing and backs with threat of jail, if you are married, well go find him and get some money if you can, sheesh
B. wedding dresses look better without the baby bump and besides your own kid can be the flower girl or ring bearer
c. at the very least you can see just how much of jerk you suspect the jerk to be, and how they handle the stress BEFORE you get entangled legally.
