Shorter answer: he gets more publicity than Sarah Palin. This makes USC Fox News, UT Alaska and the media the American public...and the media.

85% of sports columns about Lane Kiffin are hostile, but I think they're (largely) wrong about him. There is a method to his madness and he does work his ass off.
