The NHL can't prove anything against Auger and would have hell to pay if they acknowledge the truth that refs exercise the power.

Either way, their best course of action is to punish Burrows for speaking "out of line".

I'm sure through backchannels the ref is getting chewed out, but the public side of it will be on Burrows. (Can't blame Burrows for calling it out.) -- nm
