I choose to ignore those bits. Just like I ignore most of TPM to enjoy it.

I still like TPM, but the guy is right there are plot holes bigger than a Humvee.
Responses:
Can you spoil me on my favorite glaring plot hole if thet guy mentions it?

he doesn't mention it. On a scale of things to mention, that's so minor ... :) -- nm

Yeah, he doesn't really address questionable physics...except one that I didn't notice till it was mentioned last night. (spoils)

Yeah, that was a weird one -- nm

Also: To be fair, probably 90% of movies couldn't stand up to the level of scrutiny that's invested into picking apart TPM.

I agree with that. I just realized I was about to become a guy who spent over an hour watching a Youtube video by a guy I actually wanted to hit.

Part 1 defines the basic problems with it, and they are major. The rest does involve a lot of nit-picking. -- nm

I disagree with that 90% number. All the guy did was MST3000 the plot, characters and dialogue.

Could you nitpick 90% of movies to a much lesser degree? Sure. Could you completely tear apart 90% of movies the same way? No. -- nm

Yeah. Pretty much. I didn't say 90% were as bad, just that 90% can't stand that level of scrutiny. (nm)

He didn't completely tear it apart. If you took that to be an unbiased and evenhanded dismantling, I don't know what to tell you. -- nm

except if did it unfairly, people would be pointing at the things he's taking apart and saying "Wait, he did that because..."

You're right - in reality, he looked at it the wrong way, and *it fucking fell apart on its own* ;-) -- nm

He did thrash it, but I never said it was unbiased or even handed. He clearly thought the movie sucked. -- nm

well towards the end he does get into stuff Lucas put in that shows he doesn't understand why Star Wars became popular.

The one that cuts deepest imo was when he showed (spoils)

I think you're wrong, since at least 60% of movies have simple stories with a clear protagonist and arc. ;-) -- nm

I'm not saying TPM is better than 90%, mind you, just that 90% of movies can't stand the kind of scrutiny that TPM is held to. (nm)

A Humvee driving through the middle of a shot in TPM would be a smaller plot hole than some of the existing ones. :) -- nm
