The other shoe drops! The rental agency just got in touch with us.

As you know, the owners now want us out of the house. But our lease is with the rental agency and the agreement says that when the lease is out, we can rent month-to-month until notice is given by either party. Of course, the agency doesn't want us out unless they have other renters, and I don't think "We don't want you there any more" is cause for throwing us out.

Presumably, the agency got a call from the angry homeowner. Their response:

We are increasing your rent about 10%. Would you like to renew for another 12 months?

Seriously? That's the best you can do? And to think I was worried.
