I think it's kind of fascinating how people suddenly take notice and get more irate over his craziness just cuz it's related to a disaster like this.

My theory is because it gives people someone to vent their sorrow and frustration on. You can't really get mad at the tectonic plates and their shiftiness, right? And though some will point out how the leadership in these areas were arguably negligent in preparing for said disaster, Robertson makes a much more popular target.

*this is in no way a defense of Robertson or any of his statements. I'm just sayin'.
