In response to "unplug it, take out the battery, leave it for about ten minutes, then plug the battery and power back in and try again -- nm" by Beryllium

I tried that, and the "push the power button for a couple minutes" trick.

The fan works and the screen backlight lights up, but that's all it does.

Think I'll sleep on it and see if the laptop fairies fix it during the night. Otherwise I'll call Dell.
