i have a relocation clause in my apartment contract, but unless its military related, I must pay two months of rent as a penalty.

If you're lucky, they'll let you out with a one month penalty. if not, you're on the hook for the remainder of the term unless you sublet

Have you checked out the fine print of the lease? Usually that kind of stuff is included in the lease itself.
