Student, to me, in email:

This homework was way to hard for what we learned in class. I am very frustrated and don't feel like i learned anything. I can handle my own in physics but this isn't even close

Dear student:
Maybe if you'd (a) show up to class on time, (b) pay attention to what I say in class, and (c) do the examples in class like I do them instead of taking shortcuts in your head because you've had physics in high school, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, you'd be able to cope when you see something only slightly harder in the homework.
