i was in a tornado storming area once (Kentucky border) and we got off the road to find a motel and the

people who ran it were in the basement, they threw a room key at us and said 'come back and pay later.'
so we went to our *second floor* (which was top floor) room and they went back to the basement.
but i never actually saw one.
oh, i DID see a small small twister in Kingston when i was a kid.
