which was the Eighth Doctor - back in 1996 as portrayed by Paul McGann. It was meant to be the television pilot supposedly.

This was not like where the First Doctor was played by Peter Cushing in the Dalek Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. in the movie and of course William Hartnell in the series with companions such as Victoria and Susan.
