I knew a dude years ago that worked for Microsoft. He had a conference to go to, so he booked a first class seat on a commercial flight.

He got seated and then was unpleasantly suprised to see Bill Gates walking past him, heading to coach, and giving him a dirty look. He got a talking to about company expenses.
Now that is a one time anecdote, and I have no idea if Gates has his own plane now, but on that day and that flight, Gates flew coach.
Lamar Hunt, the billionaire, was once asked why he always flew coach. He said "I've found that both ends of the plane land at the same time."
Throw in the legendary stories of Sam Walton, and you start comprising a list of very successful people whose companies flourished under their administration. They somehow dealt with the down time in airports and they didn't need their own fucking jet.
