NWBR, I'm not suggesting the filibuster be eliminated entirely

But it's being abused and some sort of modification is necessary. To be clear: both parties have done it, so neither is clean here, although the Republicans have taken it to an insane degree of late.

As regards Canada - I think Canada's parliament works fine in majority situations and has done well at reflecting the will of the electorate (and at the same time, the handwringing over the idea of the coalition idea cracks me up - other than distaste towards the Bloq, the Conservatives had no place to stand as regards to that possibility - they didn't win a majority of seats!)
