I just got back from the pharmacy, the docs called and said the tests or cultures showed she did have pneumonia (despite a recent vaccine to prevent) and some anti-bio's, an inhaler, and a non steriodal cough pill was ready to be picked up.

in reply to your's,

The tricare for life (seniors) system is set up in several compeating clinics, mom does have a primary care physician which was why she wanted to see her (though like other medical systems the doctors move around more than gypsies.)

there was a reason one of her meds was not on her medical records at the hospital, it was for gout that was prescribed by an out of system podiatrist they had to send her because all the ones in the tricare were serving in iraq and/or treating soldiers back from there. The doc needed to know what it was to prevent a problem. The computer system they have does cross check for known issues.

a couple years ago they moved her back spasm/pain meds to gabapenten which has the least amount of problems and complains (and is also the cheapest)

The tricare system is much better than the private hmo she had before, doctors are much more available (her primary care before was a nurse practictioner who took appointments 2 months in advance) and this was why she went to her 'clinic' first.
