Can I just rant here for a second? Cause i'm really furious and the wife isn't home yet to vent to....

So as i've mentioned before we are looking to rent a house and have my dad move in with me. For the last few months every house we've come across has been rented like the day we turn in our application, or the day after. Now we finally found a nice house in a gated community, it's not the nicest we've seen, and the kitchen is enclosed (we were looking for a more open design), but we all really like it. So we turn in our applications and find out that no one else has at this time. Unfortunately, the agent handling the rental is in Hong Kong, so in order to facilitate the processing our apps they asked us to run our own credit reports. No biggie, it's actually cheaper than paying them to.
Now here's the crux of my rant. I knew my credit score wasn't all that great. In my younger years I thought of credit as cash, and if I missed a few payments here and there so what, and have been trying to rebuild my credit score ever since. My dad on the other hand has always had STELLAR credit. We're talking top 5 percentile. Now, however, after living with my sister for five years his credit is not much better than mine. WHAT. THE. FUCK. I'm just floored. And pissed. I mean when we discussed him moving in with us my sister told us that she had gotten them a little over their head with the credit cards...but this? My head feels like it's going to explode.
