The reason for that is James Cregg left UT to re-join Kiffin.

Yeah, but Ruel is still listed as a coach on the USC website. They are still within the limits w both Ruel and Cregg

so I was hoping that both can stay. Maybe overly optimistic, but....

Cregg coached OL at UT and Oakland. I'm not sure he can coach anything else. -- nm

The bio I read on the UT website suggested he had previous experience coaching both sides of the line.

Well, he can't do DL because that's Orgeron, so that leaves OL. As for opinions, he was fine and a solid recruiter. -- nm

Just spit-balling, but Orgeron could be Offensive Coord. Leaving Cregg and Ruel the minutae of line coaching.

It's not a likely scenario since Orgeron has never coached offense in his life, much less schemed a gameplan for it. -- nm

(If you want Ruell to stay, your best hope is for to coach TE or something like that.) -- nm

Yeah, that's only slightly less likely than Orgeron switching sides of the ball, I guess. (nm)
