Like I said, he's 1 year away from being decent.

He managed a .363 on-base in '08. If he can re-establish that level, and maintain good corner OF defense, his lack of pop doesn't hurt to bad. If he can find his on-base skills, he's a net positive, imo.
2M is chump change for the Yanks, there's little risk for them.
