plopped on top of some small chunk of cake doesn't make it sensible, OK, you have 3 or four inches of cake, and you add a couple inches of frosting, how are you going to eat it without taking a huge mouthful of butter with some sugar added(plus all that food coloring)

now old european style cakes, not those two cakes cemented but multi=layered with a half dozen or more alternating layers of cake and frosting cake and frosting, now you have your several inches of cake and frosting equally distributed in an elegant display of excess, not this lopsided out of balance blob of butter on top of a dry plug of cake.
