I still buy hard copies despite having a Kindle. Partly because some books I want don't have an e version, but also

because I do like the physical aspect of a good book and I'll continue to buy favorite authors in hardcover.
But an e-book should be cheaper than a physical copy. The overhead for an e-copy is minuscule compared to a hard copy.
E-books:
-Don't need a printer (though they do need someone to format them for e-readers)
-Nearly zero distribution and storage costs
That's a HUGE cost savings for the publishers and that savings should be reflected in the consumer's price.
