Gmail users, I have a (hopefully easy) question

If a message sits in your Inbox too long, does it get deleted automatically?

My mom uses gmail, and she thinks her oldest messages have been disappearing from her Inbox. This sounds crazy, like why would an email program do this?

Anyone know what this may be about, and possible solutions? My mom suspects if she starts putting things into folders (or whatever the gmail equivalent of this is) that might fix the problem.
