I am pro-cruise. But when it comes to Hawaii, a hotel may be a better option.

If you intend to travel a lot and visit different islands, then cruise. If you want to get up in the morning, go to the beach, and go back to your room whenever, maybe browse some touristy shops, check out the night lift... then get a hotel.
