Arch. Soc. meeting. Five of us with separate checks, and all kinds of special requests - our choices are limited at 10:00pm.
Waitress is prompt and takes both drink and dinner orders right away. Four friends order Slams and I order the senior shimp skewer over rice pilaf with green beans and a dinner salad.
Food comes very quickly - all five entrees. Before I can say anything waitress looks at me and says...
"I'll be right back with your salad!"
Uh?..."um, no, don't bother, thanks"
Look at my plate..shrimp skewer, green beans, and...corn?!?
"Um, where's the pilaf?"
"Oh, you wanted pilaf?"
What strange other dimension have I entered? The menu says "served over spicy vegetable rice pilaf," why would not want it?
"No problem, I'll bring you some pilaf"
No mention of a credit for the salad and I didn't push the point. I did have a 20% off coupon that they honored so I figured that covered it.
Still shaking my head :)
