In response to "I have a friend in Penn State. He loves it. -- nm" by celedhring

this weekend we actually spent a lot of time talking about the school and the town. for certain age groups, the town is great.

but it's tough to be a grownup there. that's why my friends were so great -- non penn state people who allowed me to separate from the majority really easily; they gave me a social life outside of my classmates.

as an undergrad or a direct masters student, it's probably on the surface a great place to be.

in many undergrad disciplines, though, the quality of the education is pretty poor. it's a name school. that's all it is.
