The CNN article about the Kevin Smith thing is confusing to me

He says that he wasn't too fat to fly, and that he thinks he was kicked off because someone didn't like his movies (which seems a leap, but okay, let's assume it's true). The he say his goal is to force Southwest to change the way it deals with overweight passengers.

Shouldn't he be forcing Southwest to change the way it deals with directors whose films it doesn't like, if that's the real reason in his mind that he was kicked off?
