They've been doing overhead shots for snowboarding. I imagine the sheer speed of the downhill races is a problem.

Those skiers are going a lot faster than the snowboarders. They HAVE managed to do some interesting stuff in superimposing two downhill runs over each other after the fact to show differences in how the racers ran the course.
