But what he was buried for was really pretty unfair.

They were mad that he "backed out of" being on the team relay at the olympics. The truth is he had told the committee from the beginning that he wasn't going to do it, but they kept holding out hope they could pressure him into changing his mind. So they didn't name anyone else to the relay team and made a big public show of how he wasn't supporting his team. This time they acknowledged that he wasn't going to up front and named someone else to the team. No controversy. And he and Chad Hendrick who had given him the most public crap about it at the last olympics have resolved their issues a long time ago.
