events. He counts on it for his living. So if he wants that upside he has to take the downside too. That being said, I don't get the golf writer's being all upset about the nature of his statement and refusal to take questions. He's not a politician. He doesn't have to take questions. He doesn't have to make a statement at all. He simply has to take the consequences of his choices. If the public doesn't view this apology as enough that's his problem, but the indignation of the media is silly.
