You're the one who put him on offense "I'll sue you!" .... Sure, he could play offense with htis...he'd lose horribly in every manner but he could.

or, he could sit down in front of his formerly admiring public, be honest about his failings, and throw himself at their feet asking for forgiveness and recover some of his image quickly.
